SpaceX launches GPS satellite as JRTI supports final landing

Tuesday, 21 April 2026

SpaceX have launched the GPS III SV10 satellite onboard Falcon 9 from SLC-40 in Florida. The booster supporting this mission, B1095, went on to land on droneship Just Read The Instructions for its seventh time. SpaceX confirmed that this was the final planned landing on JRTI as it moves on to support Starship operations. This is thought to be for moving Starship vehicles from Starbase to Florida before Starship begins production in Florida. It is unknown what this means for Falcon 9 launches going forward. SpaceX are thought to be working on potentially 2 new droneships however this is not confirmed. They may alternatively experiment with returning Starlink missions to land, accepting a slight performance hit - something which was thought to be trialed a few years ago

Booster 19 completes first 33 engine static fire test on Pad 2

Thursday, 16 April 2026

SpaceX have conducted a static fire test of Booster 19 on Pad 2 at Starbase, Texas. This test is the first full static fire test of a V3 Super Heavy booster as well as the first with Raptor 3 engines, potentially making it the most powerful rocket ignition ever. While not confirmed yet, the test appeared to be nominal lasting approximately 4 seconds in duration and appeared to use all 33 Raptor engines

Ship 39 conducts 6 engine static fire at Masseys

Tuesday, 14 April 2026

Ship 39 has conducted a 6 engine static fire on the static fire stand at the Masseys test facility in Starbase. The test is thought to have lasted 60 seconds in duration and appears to have been carried out nominally. This marks the first static fire of a V3 Starship vehicle as well as the longest duration firing of Raptor 3 engines while attached to a vehicle. A second test is expected in the coming days using a single Raptor engine and fuel from the Ship's header tank to simulate an in-space deorbit burn. Following the Ship's testing campaign, Ship 39 will roll back to the Starbase production site for final checkouts ahead of Starship Flight 12 in the coming weeks. Meanwhile on Pad 2 at the launch site, Booster 19 aborted propellant loading earlier day during what was thought to be the build up to a 33 engine static fire test. The test is now expected to be completed tomorrow

Hardware for Starship Flight 12 rolls out for testing

Saturday, 11 April 2026

Overnight, SpaceX rolled out Ship 39, the Starship vehicle planned to launch on Starship Flight 12, to the Masseys test site for engine testing. The Ship is expected to complete a 6 engine static fire as well as potentially more tests ahead of the debut flight of Starship V3 with testing due to begin within the coming days. Later today, SpaceX are also expected to roll Booster 19 to Pad 2 ahead of a 33 engine static fire - the first with Raptor 3 engines. Pending good test data, Flight 12 is currently expected to launch in mid-May

SpaceX achieves 10,000 Starlink satellites on orbit simultaneously

Tuesday, 17 March 2026

On Tuesday March 17th, SpaceX launched the Starlink Group 17-24 mission in the early hours of the morning from SLC-4E in California. Onboard this mission were 25 Starlink satellites destined for a new home in a sun-synchronous orbit. With this launch, the total number of Starlink satellites on orbit has passed 10,000 for the first time. This was not, however, the 10,000 Starlink satellite as earlier satellites have since deorbited. Following launch, first stage booster B1088, which was making its 14th trip to space, landed successfully on vessel Of Course I Still Love You
